ASRock is bringing one of their coolest designs to the mid-range segment.

Last month ASRock officially launched its Z790 Sonic motherboard. This is a special edition of LGA1700 motherboard designed on a license from SEGA. Those who expected more fruits from this cooperation, will not be disappointed.

ASRock and SEGA are also preparing B760M motherboard with the same design as the Z790 version. This is a smaller Micro-ATX form factor though, but just as the higher-end model it supports DDR5 and PCIe Gen5 technologies. It also ships with a Wi-Fi network card, which was not available for the Z790.

What should be said is that both the Z790 and B760M Sonic boards have almost identical I/O and VRM heatsinks. In fact, it looks like they might have very similar VRM design (for Z790 it was 14+1+1 power stage layout). The B760M is also powered by dual 8-pin power connectors.

We also have some very first photos of the upcoming Mini-ITX boards based on the B760 chipset from Gigabyte and MSI. But just in case you missed, there was already an ASUS ROG Strix board pictured here.

The board picture below are Gigabyte AORUS B760I PRO DDR4 and MSI MPG B760I EDGE WIFI DDR4. Both designs are very similar in terms of what they offer. There is one reinforced PCIe Gen5 slot, DDR4 memory support and onboard Wi-Fi. Unlike the SONIC though, the Mini-ITX series only feature one 8-pin power connector.

All the B760 motherboards are now set to launch on January 3rd following Intel’s official announcement of the new chipset and the rest of 13th Gen Core desktop CPUs.
