ASUS takes over NUC product line from Intel
According to an official press release from Intel, ASUS and Intel have reached term sheets to manufacture, sell, and support NUC systems. Intel has made the decision to discontinue investing in its NUC product line, as announced last week.
Under the agreement, ASUS will assume responsibility for the NUC products. They have agreed to continue supporting existing 10th to 13th Gen Core systems and develop future NUC products based on undisclosed architectures.
The NUC (Next Unit of Computing) product series consists of compact systems and reference laptops developed by Intel, which are also offered by key partners. While ASUS, ASRock, and Gigabyte have their own compact designs, Intel’s offerings have often been more advanced. Notably, Intel introduced unique products like the Canyon series, which combines an Intel CPU with a discrete Intel GPU.

This agreement grants ASUS the rights to develop its own NUC systems in the future. Consequently, we can expect ASUS to develop the NUC 14 series, not Intel. However, this is contingent upon ASUS using the Intel NUC product name instead of their own. It remains to be seen whether ASUS plans to expand beyond typical NUC/Mini-PC systems and explore more unconventional designs like Raptor Canyon or Serpent Canyon. After all, these NUC systems are highly sought after by gamers.
