NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPUs reviews to go live on April 12th
The company confirms the full embargo details with board partners.
The launch of the GeForce RTX 4070 is now confirmed for April 13th, but just before this date, NVIDIA has set several embargoes for partners and reviewers. So, here’s what you need to know.
According to our information, the first embargo starts this week. Board partners will start contacting channel partners and stocking RTX 4070 cards in their regional warehouses, before it is delivered to distributors and later to retailers. That said, AICs (Add-in-Card partners) got almost a month to stock and distribute RTX 4070 GPUs.
Reviewers will start receiving their samples in early April, so they should have at least one week to finish their reviews. Now the interesting detail is that the review embargo will be split between MSRP and non-MSRP models. What this means is that instead of two separate embargoes for NVIDIA Founders Edition and custom cards, NVIDIA will split the review embargo based on their market price.

By splitting the embargo this way, NVIDIA will essentially promote cheaper custom models instead of the factory-overclocked designs which are typically pricier. On the other hand, it doesn’t really make sense to split the embargo by a whole day because barely anyone will have a chance to read the reviews of non-MSRP cards just as they hit the shelves.
NVIDIA will officially announce the GeForce RTX 4070 on April 12th, which is also the review embargo for all RTX 4070 cards to be offered at MSRP. The non-MSRP model tests will be published on April 13th, the same day the card officially launches.
The RTX 4070 is a fourth installment in the Ada Lovelace desktop series. This model is said to feature AD104-250/251 GPU with 5888 CUDA cores. In terms of memory, gamers should expect 12GB GDDR6 configuration across a 192-bit memory bus. This will also be the first RTX 40 desktop card with TDP at only 200W.
