DJI Air 3 is Official with Dual 4K Cameras For Simultaneous Video Capture, Making it One of the Best Drones in the Market

DJI is synonymous with drones and a lot of other action camera accessories, and for the longest time, the company has been dominating the market. They are known for innovating what we know about aerial photography and, in the span of 10 years in the market, have released some really, really cool stuff. Today, the company has officially unveiled the DJI Air 3, the latest in the Air lineup that comes with two 4K cameras, and get this--they can simultaneously record videos, making the Air 3 one of the best drones that you can get your hands on at the time of writing.

DJI Air 3 is the drone you should get if you are looking for some high-end and stunning footage

So, now you know what the DJI Air 3 is packing, let's talk about it in detail. The dual-camera system is nothing new to DJI drones, as we have already seen in the Mavic lineup. However, there are some differences because the Air 3 cameras have different focal lengths and apertures as compared to its counterpart.

Both the cameras on the DJI Air 3 pack a 1/1.3-inch sensor with dual native ISO. You can shoot 4K/60FPS or 4K/100FPS videos and 48-megapixel stills as well. You are looking at a wide angle lens equivalent of 24mm focal length at f/1.7 and a 3x telephoto lens equivalent at 70mm with f/2.8 aperture. As a photographer, I think these are exceptional focal lengths to equip a drone camera with. Speaking of cameras, both cameras are able to shoot in 4K, but DJI says that if you want to use both cameras together, you can shoot a 2.7K vertical video with a telephoto lens and a second video with the standard wide lens. I do understand that this might not be everyone's cup of tea, but this will result in shots that you will be able to post without cropping anywhere, and the video angle lens will capture the shot in a wider perspective, allowing you a video that looks stunning in every way.

Aside from the bonkers cameras on the new DJI Air 3, other improvements are found across the board. For instance, the battery life sees a jump as you can now fly your drone for 46 minutes. You are also getting the O4 HD Video Transmission system, allowing you to fly the drone up to 20km and still deliver 1080@60FPS video. The batteries on the Air 3 also come with DJI's latest Power Accumulation function when you use them with the charging dock with its Fly More Combo. All you have to do is press a button, and all the connected batteries will transfer their power to the battery that is most charged, a feature that is excellent as it will ensure that you are not constantly worrying about staying fully charged.

Do you want more? Well, the good news is that the DJI Air 3 is the first drone in teh lineup to come with Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing. The feature is nothing new, but previously it was only available in the Mavic 3 lenses. The drone uses a couple of fisheye lenses on the back and the front to have access to 360--degree view and works in tandem with two binocular lenses along with a 3D Time of Flight sensor to make sure that the drone is not running into any obstacles and ultimately crashing, which would be an expensive ordeal.
