Reasons Why You Should Keep Using Twitter Instead of Threads App

Twitter, or X's rival Threads, launched earlier this year and easily became one of the hottest platforms in the market. The app surpassed 100 million users in just five days after it launched. However, at the time of writing, there was not much to the app in terms of features. For instance, you could not delete your account without deleting your Instagram account, and while the platform did confirm that the feature would come at some point, it still is not here.

Threads will soon let you disable or delete your account, but is it too late for this feature to arrive?

Today, however, we have a confirmation that Threads is indeed working on a feature that will let you delete your account without having the need to delete your Instagram account.

As you can see in the screenshots above, Threads will give you the option to delete an account or deactivate it, with the former being a temporary move. Another thing to notice is that if you do delete your account and you want to get back to the app for some reason, then you are going to have to wait 120 days before you can join the app again. This might seem a bit harsh, but I guess we cannot really have a solid reason as to why Meta has chosen that limit.

It is also worth noting that the feature is not rolling out right now, but considering how it actually exists within the app's code suggests that sooner or later, you are going to get the latest feature, and then you will be able to delete the account on Threads without having to get rid of your Instagram account.

Honestly, Threads is one of the apps that showed a lot of potential and despite a very successful launch, the app was largely unfinished. There were very few features, and for a lot of people who prefer to use social media on their computers, there was not even a website. It does have a website now, but the future still hangs in the balance because we are not sure whether Meta would want to continue supporting the platform or if it will eventually be shut down.
