NVIDIA not seeding GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB for reviews, AIBs hesitant to participate as well

GPU enthusiasts should not expect many RTX 4060 Ti 16GB reviews

There is no official review program for the upcoming graphics card.

NVIDIA has decided not to produce a Founders Edition for the soon-to-be-released RTX 4060 Ti 16GB GPU. However, board parents are still working on making their own models, although the number of cards available may be fewer than anticipated.

Typically, NVIDIA participates in reviews for their new GeForce graphics cards, even if there is no official design from them. Board partners who provide samples to reviewers are required to submit a list of all reviewers and influencers to NVIDIA as part of the typical GPU launch process.

However, it appears that the upcoming RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB VRAM will receive a different treatment. NVIDIA is not actively involved in the launch, apart from overseeing the testing process and regulating when reviewers can publish their results. Surprisingly, according to HardwareUnboxed, even the board partners are not enthusiastic about providing samples to testers.

So the RTX 4060 Ti ’16GB’ is meant to be arriving this month, word on the street is the 18th. I can’t confirm nor deny that, as I don’t actually know, but Nvidia has already announce a July release.

Now there’s no official review program for this model, there will be no FE version and it seems that Nvidia and their partners really don’t want to know about it.

Every Nvidia partner I’ve spoken to so far has said they won’t be providing review samples, and they’re not even sure when they’re model will be available.

So I don’t know when you’ll be able to view our review, but I will be buying one as soon as I can.

I expect coverage will be pretty thin and that’s probably the plan, the release strategy here is similar to that of the RTX 3080 12GB.

None of the AIBs approached by HardwareUnboxed were willing to do so. Consequently, gamers who were expecting to read reviews on the day of release may encounter difficulties finding them, unless tech reviewers manage to obtain the card through retail channels before the embargo lifts (which has happened in the past).

While rumors suggest that the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB will be launched on July 18th, NVIDIA has yet to provide any official confirmation apart from acknowledging that it is scheduled for release this month. The card is set to launch at a price that is $100 higher than the existing 8GB model, which has already received a lukewarm response from gamers.
