WhatsApp Chat and Data Transfer From Android to iPhone

WhatsApp is slowly but surely working on bringing new features to the iOS and Android apps. While it still lacks in terms of the overall feature set, we have come to believe that instead of introducing random features that no one would want to think about, the platform is focusing more and more on bringing in features that people would actually use.

Are you a clumsy texter? New WhatsApp feature will finally let you edit your texts without deleting them

The latest wind we got suggests that WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature that would let you edit the messages you have sent. This feature is particularly handy for clumsy texters or those who text in a hurry.

The feature was spotted in the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.4.0.72 by WaBetaInfo, the source has claimed that the feature is still under testing, but thankfully, they have a preview for us as to how it works, and you can look at it below:

The source has also commented how this feature to edit messages on WhatsApp is only limited to text. If you send media with captions on it, those cannot be edited at the time of writing. However, the platform could come out with the feature in the future.

As of now, the feature cannot be used, but considering it is still in a testing phase, WhatsApp users should get access to it pretty soon. In addition to that, the source did not reveal if this feature is coming to Android phones, too. At the moment, we are not sure if that is going to happen any time soon, but we will keep you posted.

I believe WhatsApp bringing a feature that lets you edit your texts is the right decision. I have personally sent a lot of texts that I wanted to edit right away, but the option to delete a text and resend a new one is always there. However, with the option to edit, the whole process of rewriting a text again will no longer be there since you can just edit the word out. We are still not sure if users will be able to see the previous and edited text as they can on Facebook. So we will have to wait and see how that pans out.
