Intel 13th Gen Core HEDT to launch next year?
Intel pushes Sapphire Rapids-X back.
A Chinese leaker who brought us both the first photo of the Intel LGA1700 socket and the photo of the Z690 chipset, now has more information on the upcoming Alder Lake, Sapphire Rapids-X, and Raptor Lake series.
According to the rumor, Intel is now expected to launch its W790 chipset for the high-end desktop (HEDT) series in the third quarter of 2022. This is contrary to the roadmap that we posted back in July. The leaker claims that there is no X699 chipset, which would launch alongside the Alder Lake series, but there is indeed a W790 (workstation) platform arriving at the same time as the 13th Gen Raptor Lake desktop series.

Intel has not released the new HEDT series since Cascade Lake-X which debuted in 2019. Assuming that the rumors are true, Sapphire Rapids-X would launch more than 3 years later.

Intel to launch all 600 series motherboards in 2021?
Another interesting part of the message is that Intel would be launching its mid to high-end tier of 600 series already in 2021. This is also contrary to previous rumors that only the Z690 chipset would be launched this year, along with Intel 12th Gen K-series CPUs. And speaking of the non-K series, those are supposedly expected to have 100 MHz lower clocks compared to the K-series.
An arrival of H670, B660, and H610 chipsets already in the fourth quarter of this year may suggest Intel may also want to launch the rest of the 12th Gen Core series sooner. However, this has not been confirmed by other sources or by the ‘Enthusiastic Citizen’ himself.
