Samsung's One UI 5.1 debuted with the Galaxy S23 series 2 weeks ago, although on the surface, it might seem like a small update over the original One UI 5.0. The new update does have a handful of features, such as the option to cut objects from pictures, Expert RAW integration within the main camera app, and more.

One UI 5.1 on older phones still has some features missing, such as the option to let you cut objects from pictures

Although Samsung was quick to start rolling out One UI 5.1 to all supported phones, it seems like some features are still missing. Mainly, the feature that lets you cut objects from pictures is missing from the new update, and at the time of writing, it feels that this feature might be limited to Galaxy S23 users.

The One UI 5.1 update started rolling out to supported phones yesterday, and now a Reddit user has shared about how they cannot find the feature that lets them cut objects from pictures. More users over the same post have talked about how the feature is not available on older phones, giving us a reason to believe that Samsung has made it exclusive to Galaxy S23 devices.

I am still waiting for the One UI 5.1 to land on my Galaxy S22 Ultra and will check if the feature is missing or not. Whatever the case is, the feature is not entirely original as it first appeared on iOS 16. But then again, Android and iOS have been copying each other for years, and it is time to admit that there is nothing wrong with it.

Are you okay with the missing One UI 5.1 feature on your older Samsung Galaxy flagship phone? Let us know what your thoughts are.
