The Expanse Final Season Trailer: A ‘Wounded, Broken’ Rocinante Embarks on a Bold Secret Mission
The Rocinante may be down, but it is by no means out, Avasarala makes clear in the full trailer for The Expanse‘s sixth and final season.
Set in a colonized solar system, Prime Video‘s sci-fi series began with the governments of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt locked in long-standing conflict. The crew of the Rocinante – an illegally salvaged warship – then stumbled on a vast conspiracy and a mysterious alien technology that threatens to upend the balance of power and the fate of humanity.
The Expanse‘s farewell run — launching Friday, Dec. 10 with the first of six weekly episodes — picks up with the solar system at war, as Marco Inaros and his Free Navy continue to launch devastating asteroid attacks on Earth and Mars. As the tensions of war and shared loss threaten to pull the crew of the Rocinante apart, Chrisjen Avasarala (played by Shohreh Aghdashloo) makes a bold move and sends former Martian Marine Bobbie Draper (Frankie Adams) on a secret mission that could turn the tide. Meanwhile in the Belt, Drummer (Cara Gee) and what’s left of her family are on the run and hunted for betraying Marco (Keon Alexander). All while on a distant planet beyond the Rings, a new power begins to rise….
The Expanse‘s final season also stars Steven Strait, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, Nadine Nicole and Jasai Chase Owens.

I genuinely hope the studio is able to finance movies for the final three novels. It’d be a huge shame if they aren’t able to bring the final novel trilogy to the small or big screen.
I read something that Alcon Entertainment had an unusual deal when they sold the show. Something like the rights to streaming belong to them still, so whenever a streaming contract expires with Amazon, all 6 prior seasons belong to Alcon, not Amazon. I feel like there’s a good chance another streamer would finance a couple more seasons if they also were able to get the streaming rights for seasons 1-6. At least I hope so!
I really hope so! It feels like this could be such a sad clifhanger ending. And if there is any way to keep this cast together to finish the full story I’d pay for whichever streaming service it ends up. This really looks epic.
If they’re loyal to the material(And theres no reason why they won’t be) it should give a good stopping point. The authors structured this series as a multi three book trilogy. So there’s not much to be concerned about beyond where we will see more from.
Sounds good but realistically who would pick the show up now? We’ve already had Netflix and Amazon. I feel if we dont see news before they start striking the sets we probably never will.

I was thinking maybe Bull? But I dont think his actor has been promoted to series regular. It wouldnt surprise me if the job goes to Clarissa Mao though.
Peaches?She doesn’t have many skills,if anything Holden will likely pilot but I doubt with much skill.
