NVIDIA adds more SKUs to RTX 4060 series

According to MEGAsizeGPU, who has been a very reliable source in the past, NVIDIA has settled on four new SKUs.

Not two but three RTX 4060 models are now on the manufacturer’s roadmap. It appears that NVIDIA listened to the feedback from the gaming community who were not pleased to know that RTX 4060 Ti might only have 8GB VRAM. The same memory configuration would reportedly apply to the RTX 4060 non-Ti model as well.

As it turns out, the company is now planning to launch RTX 4060 Ti SKU with increased memory capacity to 16GB, but this card would appear later. According to the leaker, all three SKUs will be announced this month, but two models will launch in July. Gamers should now expect RTX 4060 Ti 8GB to become available this month, but the 16GB SKU and RTX 4060 non-Ti will be on shelf in July.

Upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 GPUs:

  • RTX 4060 Ti 8G: Announcement: May, Release: May
  • RTX 4060 Ti 16G: Announcement: May, Release: July
  • RTX 4060 8G: Announcement: May, Release July

The 16GB model of RTX 4060 Ti is surely an unexpected decision by NVIDIA, mainly due to the already limited memory bus to 128-bit. It will definitely not improve the bandwidth, but gamers may expect more frame buffer to store high-resolution textures or maybe large AI models.

Likelihood of NVIDIA announcing all three cards at Computex Keynote is high, but it looks like there is still no ‘announcement date’ listed by internal embargo documents. We do our best to provide an update on that soon.
