GeForce RTX 4090 with 2520 MHz boost clock

Kopite7kimi has an update on RTX 4090 specs.

According to the leaker, NVIDIA RTX 4090 now apparently has a base and boost clocks. It is revealed that RTX 4090 has 2235 MHz base and 2520 MHz boost with 2750 MHz actual clock (such as in-game clock).

Those numbers are impressive once compared to the existing RTX 3090 SKU. The base clock alone is 60% increase (vs 1395 MHz) and boost clock is 49% higher (vs 1695 MHz). That’s indeed a noticeable upgrade over Ampere series.

Given that RTX 4090 has a rumored 16384 CUDA core spec configuration, this means that with said ‘actual’ clock speed of 2750 MHz the card’s compute performance could reach 90 TFLOPS in single-precision workload. That’s almost exactly twice as high as RTX 3090 non-Ti.

Kopite also reiterates the previously shared specs on RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 SKUs. Each SKU is to feature a different GPU, either AD103 (RTX 4080) or AD104 (RTX 4070). It looks like RTX 4080 will feature a 256-bit memory bus and 16GB of GDDR6X memory clocked at the same speed as RTX 4090. Meanwhile, RTX 4070 which supposedly has 7168 CUDA cores according to the latest rumors, would have 160-bit wide memory bus and 10GB of GDDR6 18 Gbps memory.

NVIDIA is now expected to unveil its RTX 40 series around September or October this year. Initially only these three models are to be launched with mid-range RTX 4060 coming next year around CES 2023.
