This $20 M.2 Cooler Will Get Your SSD Down To Sub 50C Temps, Features RGB & A Heatsink Taller Than GPUs

JIUSHARK has introduced a brand new M.2 SSD Cooler which can deliver sub-50C temps on the fastest Gen 5 and Gen 4 drives available today.

JIUSHARK's $20 M.2 Cooler For High-End Gen 5 & Gen 4 SSDs Delivers Sub-50C Temps With RGB Accents

JIUSHARK first appeared on our radars back in February when we talked about their JF13K cooler which featured a top-down designed and claimed to offer some top-notch cooling performance at budget-tier prices. Now, JIUSHARK has released its brand new cooler for M.2 SSDs which aims to do the same.

Simply named, the M.2-Four, the high-end M.2 cooling solution comes in three flavors, one with the aforementioned ARGB functionality and the other two with non-RGB designs in black or silver color. The cooler has three main parts, the base plate which comes pre-applied with thermal paste, a tall heatsink that features several aluminum fins, and a stainless steel assembly. The single fan is fitted within the heatsink and cools it down.

The JIUSHARK M.2-Four measures 71mm tall which makes it as tall as some graphics cards. The rest of the measurements are 74.5mm (length) and 24.5mm (width). There are four screws that hold the heatsink in place and need to be removed to install/remove the M.2 SSD. It should take up a good amount of space and the best position would be to either install it on the top-most SSD slot if you aren't already using a motherboard with a top-notch heatsink or one below the GPU that will have access to Gen 5.0 lanes.

JIUSHARK has provided some performance figures using the Samsung 980 Pro 500 GB SSD. Using, the stock cooler, the NAND Flash hit up to 78C temperatures and the SSD controller hit up to 94C temps. The SSD was run as it is without any cooling solution. With the M.2-Four SSD cooler, it saw a significant drop in temps. The NAND Flash ran at 40C (-38C) and the controller ran at 45C (-49C). It's definitely doing a great job delivering sub-50C temps but the reason I mentioned PCIe Gen 5.0 SSDs above is that those can benefit more from such high-end SSD coolers.

Although most PCIe Gen 5.0 and higher-end Gen 4.0 SSDs are now coming with decent heatsinks and high-end motherboards also feature one or several heatsinks that are more than enough for such storage devices, having such coolers for the upcoming mainstream Gen 5.0 SSDs might make some sense. Plus, you don't have to spend that much money to get your hands on one of these. The M.2 Four cooler from JIUSHARK costs just 125 RMB ($18 US) while the ARGB variant costs 180 RMB ($26 US).
