CHAT TRANSFER

Yesterday, we shared information about a new chat transfer option for Android discovered during the development of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.1.25. This feature will allow users to switch to a new Android device without having to back up their chat history on Google Drive.
The feature is still in development but we can announce that WhatsApp is actively working to further develop and improve upon the chat transfer feature for Android devices as we’ve discovered additional details about its functionality thanks to the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.1.26 update:

As you can see in this screenshot, the process is straightforward and begins by downloading WhatsApp on the new Android device. After opening WhatsApp on the new phone, we should scan the provided QR code to initiate the chat history migration to the new Android device. In our opinion, this feature will provide a convenient and efficient solution for those seeking to transfer their chat history to a new Android phone without backing up their chats and media on Google Drive, as it streamlines the process and allows for a faster migration.

WhatsApp is developing the chat transfer option for a future update of the app. As we said in our previous article, we don’t know when it will be released to users since it is under development but we plan to publish an additional article when we have some more details to share with you.
