The Invasion is not over at Apple TV+: The streamer has renewed the sci-fi drama for Season 2, ahead of the first season finale this Friday, Dec. 10, TVLine has learned.
The series, from co-creators Simon Kinberg (the X-Men and Deadpool films) and David Weil (Hunters), follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. The cast includes Golshifteh Farahani, Shamier Anderson, Shioli Kutsuna, Firas Nassar, Billy Barratt, Azhy Robertson, Tara Moayedi, Daisuke Tsuji and Sam Neill.
“I’m profoundly grateful to Apple for being so supportive every step of the way, and trusting us to make a deeply human, emotional alien-invasion story,” Kinberg said in a statement. “And most of all I’m thankful to our amazing fans, without whom we wouldn’t have this opportunity to continue the invasion. I’m super excited about what we’re planning for Season 2, expanding our universe in the most intimate and epic ways.”

Which of today’s TVLine Items pique your interest?
Gotta admit I never, ever would have imagined Stephanie March on a CW superhero show! She’s wonderful, though, so now I’m thinking ‘Why not?’
I’m really surprised about the Invasion renewal. Most of the characters are annoying and can’t act.
It must be aliens taking over Apple silently that made them renew this show.
This show is so boring
Agree. Implies Apple is desperate for content, as this show was not received well by critics or viewers. I couldn’t make it through the second episode as I found myself strongly disliking everyone and not caring if the aliens wiped them out.
I love Stephanie March! But she is not your typical CW casting news.
I thought the invasion was repelled at the end?
I’ve been enjoying Invasion. It had a slow start, but I love those. Some of the characters are annoying and I’ve been anticipating seeing them killed, so.. fingers crossed. Otherwise, I’m glad for a Season 2. Now, if only one character would stop looking up into the sky or staring endlessly for minutes at a time at nothing, as if they’re in a deep shock. It’s very annoying.
Also – I’m still peeved at the red herring they gave us, unless one character shows up on the season finale.
100% – there’s nothing listed in IMDB so we will see.
But that just seemed like a waste of that person’s talent.
Snowpiercer looks awesome! I really like this show and can’t wait to see how Mike O’Malley gets out of the drawer.
A great show indeed.
Invasion is one of the worst shows I have ever seen.
I mean look don’t get mean wrong it’s cool and Yhea it is slow asf but hell at this point I don’t even care I hope season 2 would be a lot better but mitsuki bro she fine asffff
How in the world did Invasion get renewed? It’s the worst show on TV.
Lol. Walker, Station 19, Riverdale etc. are total brain fkk compared to Invasion. It`s bit of slow serie, but intresting still. I think the writers will get feedback and will act for S2.
I love science fiction, so I was thrilled when they announced Invasion, Foundation and Raised by Wolves.
I was shocked at how bad they are. They are very expensive shows to produce – I wish they would cancel them and spend the money on better shows.
Invasion – not great. Foundation – Awesome. Raised by Wolves – lots of potential. I hope they find it in the future.
Invasion was so slow. I hope S2 picks up the pace because I eventually liked the plot. They first severa episodes can be excised and it wouldn’t affect the plot.
.
I just want to know what’s up with Hinata/not-Hinata in Space.
ohh invasion is boring like hell
Invasion – I’m surprised it’s been renewed as well. I found the first 8 episodes so slow. I mean, I like having character development which is sadly missing in a number of sci=fi series, but good Lord this was painfully slow. It definitely needed some action earlier than this, Though I have to admit, watching the last two episodes did pique my interest — the young boy who communicates with the aliens is an interesting character as is the Japanese communications expert; the father of Hinata; the soldier and the “almost a doctor” lady (tho I did want to put her son in the corner for the rest of the series….yes, I know, it was just his reaction to losing his father suddenly and violently).
I fast forwarded a lot of the first 8 episodes and watched all of the last 2. So now I’ll end up watching Season 2, tho, admittedly, still surprised they even got a 2nd season.
