Custom GeForce RTX 4060 Ti GPUs could boost up to 2.7 GHz

The RTX 4060 Ti with the first rumored frequency specs.

NVIDIA and board partners may now be occupied with the upcoming RTX 4070 non-Ti launch, but the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 series are just around the corner as well. The truth is we already know quite a lot about the RTX 4060 Ti, but there have been no leaks on the GPU clock specs or the release date. It looks like we might now have an answer to the first part at least.

TechPowerUP GPU database maintainer “T4C Fantasy” claims that the RTX 4060 Ti should launch with a 2310 MHz base clock and 2535 MHz boost clock. Furthermore, custom models should boost up to 2685 MHz, which is actually not as high as RTX 4070 Ti. That said, the RTX 4060 Ti would have the same base clock as the RTX 4070 Ti, but around 75MHz lower boost.

The following chart shows raw compute performance based on the official and rumored boost clock for existing and upcoming RTX 40 desktop cards. The outlier would definitely be the RTX 4070 non-Ti with visibly lower clock than other AD104 based model, the RTX 4070 Ti.

These numbers show that RTX 4060 Ti would have 3.7x lower compute performance. If the same clocks were to be applied to the RTX 4060 non-Ti SKU, one could expect around 15 TFLOPs so 5.5 times less than RTX 4090.

Board partners are now putting the finishing touches on their custom PG190 boards, which are to be used by both RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 SKUs. The final specs and BIOSes have not been shared with them yet. As far as their expectations are concerned, the RTX 4060 series could launch in May.
