The Galaxy S23 FE Might Have the Flagship Specs But Samsung's Ruined the Front with Massive Bezels

The Galaxy S23 FE is inching closer to the launch, and over the past couple of months, we have heard a lot about the device. Unlike the Galaxy S21 FE, the future of this device is a lot clearer thanks to numerous leaks and even Samsung implying the existence of the device. Now, we have the full spec sheet of the upcoming affordable flagship, along with the potential release date.

The Galaxy S23 FE looks like a great phone, but it will need a very competitive price if Samsung wants it to be a hit

Now, the Galaxy S23 FE is a bit of a conundrum because it will be a part of the Galaxy S23 lineup, but it will have specs from the Galaxy S22 series. The reason is the fact that instead of going for the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset, Samsung has decided to go for an Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Why this choice was made is still unclear, but at least that is what the story is for now.

The spec sheet was leaked by Yogesh Brar, who shared with us what the Galaxy S23 FE will be packing, and honestly, it doesn't really come as a surprise. If you have been looking for a surprise, that is not the case here, aside from perhaps the camera, which is the most significant difference here as Samsung is choosing a 50-megapixel sensor from the base Galaxy S23 models.

There you have it, the Galaxy S23 FE is basically a Galaxy S22, but with some changes, and while this might disappoint some people, I do have to mention that there is nothing wrong with the specs. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is a competent processor and, for the most part, will work just fine. I have been using my Galaxy S22 Ultra since launch and, so far, have not run into any performance-related issues, so if you have been waiting to get your hands on an affordable phone, this is your chance.

Now, the Galaxy S23 FE looks excellent; I don't doubt that at all. However, the only thing that will decide how the phone will perform in the market is the price because if Samsung puts it under the $700 mark. Why? Because the Nothing Phone 2 is already available with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and that starts at $599, so Samsung really needs to compete to make a place for itself. I feel $650 would be the fair price for this phone. I am hoping more will be revealed in the coming days as Brar has mentioned how the phone will be released in September, and that is not a lot of wait. So, we will keep you posted.
