The third RTX 40 Founders Edition

For the new launch, NVIDIA is indeed making their own design.

The RTX 4070 Ti did not get a Founders Edition, in an effort to push more custom designs to the market, but it seems the non-Ti SKU will see a different approach. NVIDIA has sent out a Founders Edition of RTX 4070 for reviews, clearly suggesting that such cards will also be sold.

The new Founders Edition card looks like it did in the leaks. It is a dual-slot design and is undoubtedly much smaller than the RTX 4080 FE. The dimensions should be similar, if not identical, to RTX 3070 FE. Despite the small footprint, NVIDIA equipped their design with a 16-pin power connector, while a large number of customs designs will use a ‘standard’ 8-pin power connector instead.

The V-shaped PCB of RTX 4070 non-Ti is short, meaning that the secondary axial fan located on the other side of the card is completely exposed on both sides. The RTX 4070 is without a doubt a welcome change in the desktop Ada lineup, finally, a card that can fit many systems with or without power adapters. Gamers will be able to attach up to four displays through one HDMI 2.1 or three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors.

NVIDIA is set to launch its RTX 4070 GPU on April 13th. The card is now confirmed to cost $599, which is likely also the price of the Founders Edition.

Update: In reply to our leak David Giannis shared more photos of the card:
