The Galaxy S23 offers one of the best cameras that you can get on any smartphone. I cannot suggest anything else if you are in the market looking for a complete package. Not just that, Samsung has shown some really good dedication regarding making the experience even better. The company has introduced a series of features, and you also have the amazing Expert RAW camera app, but it seems like Samsung is not done, as we have a word on what's next to come for the phone.

Galaxy S23 users will soon be able to take portraits in 2x mode rather than having to choose between 1x and 3x

The South Korean giant is already working on a feature that will make the Galaxy S23 cameras perform better in low light and HDR. Today, an individual from Samsung's camera development team mentioned that the company is working on adding a new 2x option in portrait mode. This is handy for those who don't want the subject to be too far or too close.

Currently, the Galaxy S23 allow for 1x and 3x in portrait mode, but the company has said that they are going to add a 2x mode via a software update. However, it is also worth noting that we are not sure if the new feature will be extended to Expert RAW, but if you still use the stock camera app, then it definitely is something that you should look forward to.

The update should be coming to the Galaxy S23 devices globally in a couple of months. However, upon being asked whether the update is going to come to Galaxy S22 and older devices, the representative mentioned that the phone is currently not under review. However, this does not mean that the older phone won't get the update. Samsung does have a habit of releasing updates for older devices a bit late, but it never really misses out on the chance to push the latest features.

As for the Galaxy S23 getting the new portrait mode zoom, we are going to have to wait and see when that update will roll. Hopefully, the update should start rolling out this month. We will keep you posted once it is available. Meanwhile, you can actually even use the front camera via the Expert RAW app, and you will get some stellar results as compared to the stock app.
