Chinese PowerStar P3 CPU announced

A Chinese company called PowerLeader has just announced its new desktop CPU line called PowerStar.

PowerLeader a Chinese company established in 1999, currently specializing in the data-center market. The current lineup of server products is almost entirely based on Intel hardware.

At a press event earlier this week, the company announced it will enter desktop CPU market with a new CPU called PowerStar P3 chip. According to the official product picture it has a base clock of 3.7 GHz. However, no further details were shared.

PowerLeader P3 looks very similar to the Intel Core i3-10105 processor. Both products even share a similar name (P3-01105 vs. i3-10105) and the same base clock. This raises a question whether P3 is a real product or just a rebranded Intel Core processor.

The P3 CPU is designed specifically for desktop users, especially government systems, energy industry, finance, medical, and also gaming, according to the announcement. The company has set an annual sales target to reach 1.5 million pieces, which sounds like an ambitious goal.

Along with the new processor, a first small form factor PowerLeader PC was shown. The system called PT620P is reportedly equipped with the P3 CPU, and it supports the Windows operating system.

Unfortunately, the company did not reveal any details on the release date or pricing.
