Intel Meteor Lake part of the 14 Gen core series
The documents that had been leaked before did not fully describe how Intel would name its consumer CPU products. However, the newly shared data may now explain what will happen with the Core series in the near future.
A new chart for OpenVPL (Video Processing Library) hardware support lists “Future: 14th Generation Intel Core” series as MTL/Meteor Lake. While there is no mention of the upcoming refresh of Raptor Lake, this codename is only attached to the 13th Gen Core series. What this essentially means is that the 14th Gen series should no longer be associated with Raptor Lake Refresh, unless some small rebranding takes place later.

Intel’s next consumer desktop Core series will likely adopt similar product naming to mobile series. One could now expect a Core i9-13950K SKU or anything similar that would be part of the Raptor Lake Refresh.
The leaked roadmap only mentioned Raptor Lake-S Refresh for desktops, with no direct plans for mobile series. More importantly, the existing 700-series platform will remain as it is, which means that Intel will now have two generations and one refresh (so three waves of SKU launches) for its existing LGA1700 platform.

As long as the roadmap is considered, Intel Raptor Lake Refresh should launch in the third quarter of this year. Meanwhile, Meteor Lake for desktop should not appear anytime soon.
