Red Devil RX 7800 XT has been revealed by PowerColor

PowerColor has made a huge mistake by revealing their Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card before AMD.

The new RX 7800 XT Red Devil graphics card boasts a new RDNA3 GPU equipped with 3840 Stream Processors, just as many cores as the last-gen RX 6800 non-XT. Should these specs be correct, it would also mean it has fewer cores than the RX 6800 XT (4608). PowerColor confirms the card operates with a clock speed of 2255 MHz for gaming and 2565 MHz for boost, surpassing AMD’s reference clock speeds of 2210 MHz and 2520 MHz, respectively. Interestingly, the company has unveiled the full specifications of this card even before AMD had a chance to announce it officially.

As anticipated from previous rumors, the RX 7800 XT comes with 16GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit bus, utilizing 18 Gbps modules. Those are the same specs as the RX 7900 GRE model released last month. This is nearly the same config as the RX 6800 series, except it offers higher memory speed and bandwidth.

The product page reveals many details about the card; however, it does not provide specific power specifications. To ensure optimal performance, PowerColor recommends using an 800W power supply and two 8-pin power connectors for this model.

PowerColor Red Devil RX 7800 XT embraces an upgraded triple ringed-fan cooling solution (100 x 100 x 100mm), a set of 8 x 6φ heatpipes running through the heatsink, and a sleek copper plate directly touching the GPU while covering VRAM to rapidly transfer the heat; it also utilizes high quality PCB that comes with the 11+3+1+2+1 phase VRM design, and DrMOS with IMON real-time digital monitoring built in, all together to guarantee the optimum cooling efficiency and stability when pushing to the limits. Red Devil is designed to seize every victory in the game.

The card appears to use a very similar design to the just announced Radeon RX 7900 GRE, which uses a Navi 31 XL GPU. However, the product page for RX 7800 XT confirms this GPU features Navi 32 GPU, which has not been publicly announced yet.

The full specs disclosure will certainly have repercussions for PowerColor. AMD had only just confirmed they will have a new ‘enthusiast-class’ Radeon GPUs coming this quarter, but certainly no one expected to reveal to be this soon.
