Intel Arc A380 gets ‘new’ official specs

We have been notified that Intel has changed the specs of its just-released Arc A380 desktop GPU.

The card is equipped with 15.5 Gbps memory, not 16 Gbps as listed a few days ago. This means that the bandwidth has been reduced from 192 GB/s to 186 GB/s. No other changes were applied to the specs.

As we reported earlier, the first and thus far the only custom model based on Arc A380 was officially equipped with 15.5 Gbps memory, therefore it was slower than official reference specs. As it turns out, this model actually did have reference specs, and those listed at the Intel website were incorrect.

Furthermore, Intel clarified the confusion on HDMI 2.1 compatibility for Arc A380 graphics card. The card actually does support HDMI 2.1 specs on this SKU, however it is up to board partners to decide whether they want to enable the support. This is why the newly released GUNNIR Photon Arc A380 graphics cards are only HDMI 2.0 compatible.

Intel Arc A380 is the first desktop GPU based on Xe-HPG architecture. Thus far this graphics card is only available in China, and it is unclear when exactly will it become available on other markets. This entry-level model has comparable performance to AMD’s slowest Radeon RX 6400 graphics card, and it costs around 150 USD after conversion with VAT (there is no official MSRP for US).
